Good to Know 

  • The experience includes walking through village pathways, farmland, coffee plantations, and mountain terrain. Some sections of the trail may be uneven, winding, or gently steep; however, the pace can be adjusted to suit participants’ comfort levels
  • Pelaga is located in Bali’s highlands, where temperatures are generally cooler than in coastal areas; a light jacket is recommended
  • Activities take place outdoors and may be adjusted depending on weather conditions
  • Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a reusable water bottle are recommended
  • Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice
  • Photography is welcome, and there will be plenty of opportunities to capture the scenic landscapes and daily village life
  • This is an immersive community-based experience focused on local agriculture, culture, and meaningful interaction with village residents rather than a conventional sightseeing tour

Welcome Coffee & Village Introduction
Begin your experience with a cup of freshly brewed organic coffee and traditional local snacks. Meet members of the community and learn about Kiadan Pelaga Village, its history, rich cultural heritage, and long-standing tradition of coffee cultivation.

Coffee Plantation & Agricultural Trek
Take a guided walk through the cool highland landscapes, passing coffee plantations, vegetable gardens, and mixed agroforestry areas. Along the way, discover the village’s sustainable farming practices and the variety of crops grown by local families.

Meet Local Farmers & Learn About Coffee Cultivation
Gain insight into the journey of Pelaga coffee, from cultivation and harvesting to the role coffee plays in the local economy and daily life.

Traditional Village Lunch
Enjoy an authentic Balinese feast prepared with fresh local ingredients, accompanied by the warm hospitality of the village community.

Coffee Tasting Experience
Visit the village coffee house and enjoy a guided tasting of coffees processed using different methods. Discover how each technique influences the coffee’s aroma, body, sweetness, and flavor profile, while learning the fundamentals of coffee appreciation.

Coffee Processing Experience (Seasonal)
Visit the village coffee processing house to follow the journey of coffee from freshly harvested cherries to green beans ready for roasting. Learn about the different stages of processing, drying, sorting, and quality control. This activity is available during the coffee harvest season.

Optional: Coffee Seedling Planting Experience
Learn how coffee seedlings are prepared and cared for before they are planted in local farms. Take part in creating coffee seedlings that will later be distributed to members of the village’s farmers’ group, directly supporting the regeneration of sustainable coffee plantations.

Optional: Visit Nungnung Waterfall
Extend your visit with a trip to the spectacular Nungnung Waterfall, one of Bali’s most beautiful hidden waterfalls. Descend through lush tropical forest to witness the powerful cascade and enjoy the refreshing natural surroundings before returning to the village.

Closing & Reflections
End your journey with a deeper appreciation for Bali’s coffee heritage, sustainable agriculture, and community-led tourism before returning to your accommodation.
