Carol Warren is Associate Professor of Asian Studies at Murdoch University (Perth, Western Australia 6150, Australia), where she teaches anthropology and co-ordinates the Development Studies postgraduate programme.
Her research interests include community development, social ecology, and customary law. Her major publications include Adat and Dinas: Balinese Communities in the Indonesian State (Oxford University Press, 1993) and The Politics of Environment in Southeast Asia (Routledge, 1998), co-edited with Philip Hirsch.
